Dr. Weiss is a highly skilled glaucoma and cataract surgeon who has higher than a 50 percent referral rate. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and teaches cataract surgery courses there for the continuing education of practicing ophthalmologists.
Dr. Weiss is also recognized as a fellow by the American Glaucoma Society and American College of Surgeons. He also frequently treats other doctors and surgeons. He also participates in studies sponsored by the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Weiss specializes in astigmatic and multifocal lens implants, including Restor, Crystalens, and Rezoom.
Dr. Weiss has pioneered two surgical procedures to treat elevated eye pressure:
- Implantation of a drainage tube to treat advanced glaucoma
- Reduction of eye pressure without entering the eye
These advances allow his patients to have a safer, quicker and more comfortable recovery.
